SICK, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems and automatic identification products for industrial applications, today announced it has launched its DKV60 Incremental Measuring Wheel Encoder. The DKV60 is an ideal solution for product tracking on a conveyor, determining the position and speed of a conveyor, roll diameter sensing, and more.

The DKV60 Encoder is a complete measuring system. It combines an incremental encoder, dual measuring wheels, mounting bracket and cable in one assembly. This drastically reduces installation time and provides a one-piece solution for common product positioning needs. This innovative encoder comes standard in a rugged metal housing, rated IP 65 – for added robustness. In addition, the DKV60 offers a resolution as small as 0.1 mm. The measuring wheel is available in a knurled surface or “O” ring surface for different media, depending upon application type. The DKV60 also features a 5 V DC TTL output or a 24 V DC push-pull output.
