Body Assembly

SICK combines precision, speed and safety
Body construction is one of the crucial production steps in automobile manufacturing. Metal pieces are joined to assemble the body of the vehicle. The structural supports, floor plan, door and side panels, hood, trunk, and roof are brought together into a body. Two processes are used for joining these parts: spot welding and adhesive bonding. Spot welding uses heat and pressure to join parts; there are more than 3,000 spot welded points in a typical vehicle. Adhesives can also be used when bonding different materials. The various parts are then combined to form a tough and homogeneous basis for the automobile.
SICK sensor solutions help ensure maximum precision, speed and safety during the welding process.
