Powertrain The powertrain consists of all the components that comprise a vehicle's drive system. Powertrain assembly includes bringing together the engine, the transmission and any other components integral to the transmission. Components such as drive shafts, clutchs, universal joints, differential gear and axle shafts are included in the powertrain assembly process. Powertrain components are matched according to driver needs: high torque, fuel economy, or convenience. SICK sensor solutions ensure precision and safety in powertrain assembly. SICK sensors solutions handle important monitoring, control and safety tasks in all areas of the "powertrain" to ensure that engine components form a perfect whole.
For example, checking the presence of workpieces, controlling gantry robots, checking lubrication in engines, or controlling the tool carriers on transfer lines and, last but not least, safeguarding hazardous areas and points-of-operation.
- Processing of cylinder heads and the engine unit
- Assembly of the cylinder head
- Assembly of the engine unit
- The marriage of engine unit and cylinder head
- Assembly of add-on pieces
