The MZ2Q is the first magnetic cylinder sensor with two programmable switching points, reducing installation costs and wiring. SICK is currently the only company to offer this ”2 in 1” sensor concept that provides users greater functional reliability with rapid piston movements, two-fold final position detection in pneumatic cylinders, and the precise detection of different gripper positions. The MZ2Q Magnetic Cylinder Sensor is ideal for position detection on pneumatic cylinders and grippers. The sensor can be taught to detect beginning stroke (retracted) and end stroke (extended) positions over 2 in (50 mm) stroke size. Moreover, this sensor can be completely recessed in the T-slot. In addition, it offers flexible installation – one sensor can be used with different cylinder types. Accessories such as mounting brackets for profile, tie-rod, dovetail, and round cylinders are easily installed and permit universal use of the MZ2Q. This sensor offers an IP 67 enclosure rating. The MZ2Q provides two programmable normally open outputs as a PNP circuit. The MZ2Q is available in 2 m (4-wire) and M8 (4-pin) versions.
